The Lazy Gal’s Guide to Scotland

So here we are . . . welcome to The Lazy Gal’s Guide to Scotland!

Hi, I’m Paula, and I’m here to welcome you to the Lazy Gal’s Guide to Scotland!

I’d love to tell you I’m one of those girls who loves to scale mountains and walk for hours, but unfortunately I am not. Don’t get me wrong, I love the idea of it, but if that’s what you’re looking for from me, you’ve come to the wrong place.

I’m the girl who trails behind her boyfriend like a petulant child if I try to climb a hill, moaning “how much longer?” or “why can’t you slow down?” On one occasion, he even had to push me up a particular steep bit of hill, witnessed by a couple of giggling onlookers. *facepalm*

Hills I have failed to complete in the past include Conic Hill and Ben A’an. If you are familiar with either of these, it probably means you won’t be surprised when I say I have never climbed a Munro.

The thing is though, Scotland is not all mountains – thank goodness. There is so much more to Scotland . . . lochs, glens, cities, pretty little villages,  beaches, amazing viewpoints without massive walks, incredible single track dead end roads, tidal islands, castles, castles ON tidal islands . . . and over the last few years I’ve visited a LOT of these places. And I’d love to share them with anyone who is interested because, honestly, Scotland is one of the most amazing places you can ever visit.

Sure, our weather can be a bit hit or miss (admittedly, more hit than miss) but I always say that’s because otherwise everyone would want to live here. No one is perfect after all.

Anyway, my intention with The Lazy Gal’s Guide to Scotland is to share some of my favourite places, as well as tips about travelling around Scotland, and I may even share some of my favourite walks with you. And, because I’m lazy, I’ll be completely honest about whether they’re actually difficult or not!

I hope you’ll join me!

You can also find me on Instagram so please feel free to pop by and follow me there!
